What You’ll Do:

As a Cash Application Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations by accurately processing payments and reconciling accounts. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will help maintain the integrity of our financial records, contributing to the top-tier service we provide to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Payment Processing: Post payments and adjustments daily, ensuring all transactions meet monthly deadlines for accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile daily batches to deposits, maintaining precision and compliance.
• Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve unidentified payments using internal tools, written communication, or phone inquiries.
• Overpayment Management: Identify overpayments and collaborate with internal teams to notify payors, clients, and facilities for refunds or corrections.
• Secondary Billing Support: Provide documentation or details required for secondary billing to the appropriate teams.
• Reporting: Prepare and complete weekly and monthly reports as per schedule.
• Refund Processing: Verify and process patient refunds in the accounts receivable (AR) systems.
• Electronic Remittance Review: Download, review, and document electronic remittances, ensuring accurate reporting for third-party payors.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to operational improvements through special projects and initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in medical billing, cash application, or payment posting.
• Long-term care (LTC) pharmacy billing experience preferred.
• Intermediate Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is a must.
• Familiarity with billing rules and regulations is a plus.
• Reconciliation experience is a strong advantage.
