***Must be a registered/certified Pharmacy Tech with the state board and have 2 years experience as a Pharmacy Tech to be considered.***

As a Lead Order Entry Technician, you will be responsible for entering prescriptions into the Remedi SeniorCare Framework/DocuTrack pharmacy system with both speed and accuracy. You will also communicate with customers on the telephone and will need to respond quickly and courteously to their needs.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current national/state pharmacy certification, along with State Board of Pharmacy registration required.
  • Comprehensive computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and drug knowledge required.
  • Math skills with an emphasis on calculations as well as analytical skills required. Basic medical records understanding desired.
  • Minimum of two (2) years working in a long term care pharmacy as a pharmacy, data entry or medical records technician, or as a pharmacy technician in a retail environment preferred, experience with alpha-numeric data entry, SIG codes, strong typing ability required.

Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist and as permitted by State law, Order Entry Technicians should be capable of the following:

  • Assist in overseeing his/her respectful shift of pharmacy technicians as they enter orders with speed and accuracy as well as answer telephones responding quickly and courteously to customer’s needs in the absence of the shift supervisor.
  • Assume the restructuring of assignments in the absence of the shift supervisor.
  • Direct technicians what queues to work when not completing assigned tasks/projects and ensure the team is completing tasks efficiently and correctly.
  • Escalate performance concerns to direct supervisor and/or manager. Upon request by the supervisor and/or FEM, assist in the training of new associates on assignments.
  • Keep technicians on task throughout the shift via email to ensure accurate and timely order entry.
  • Monitor queues throughout the day to ensure the assignments were completed correctly and thoroughly and adjust staff according to workflow demands, then send the daily hand off at the end of each shift.
  • Monitor telephone dashboard and remind all staff to log into the phones when necessary in order to meet hold time goals.
  • Ensure all Turnbacks, LOA, XD, and Specials are completed by the corresponding deadline for each delivery.
  • When assigned, call the runs and send launch emails at the appropriate time with 0 documents remaining.
  • Walk around floor of pharmacy to ensure team members are completing assigned tasks and update supervisor as well as answer questions from team members.
  • Research, follow up and troubleshoot as pertaining to prescriptions/patient data entry discrepancies in order to better train technicians for future entry tasks.
  • Assist shift supervisor and/or FEM with tasks as assigned.
