Your Role: Collections Specialist
What You'll Do:
- Engage and Resolve: Reach out to residents, nursing facility staff, and financially responsible parties via phone, fax, email, or mail to discuss and resolve outstanding balances.
- Manage Accounts: Work on aging accounts with a focus on resolving issues related to insurance coverage, claim rejections, and prescription dispensing.
- Communicate Clearly: Utilize established processes and tools to communicate past due amounts in a professional and effective manner.
- Process Payments: Handle credit card payments and prepare/send collection letters.
- Ensure Confidentiality: Adhere to HIPAA and PHI guidelines to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
- Strategize with Management: Collaborate with department management to develop and implement effective collection strategies.
- Stay Informed: Participate in staff meetings and educational activities to stay current with industry best practices.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
- Experience: At least two years of experience in pharmacy or medical collections, with a solid understanding of billing rules and third-party operating procedures.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Team Player: Ability to work positively and productively with others.
Candidate must be located in Baltimore, MD or Troy, OH for onsite training.
Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or 8:30:00 am – 5pm
Salary Range: $41,000-$44,000, depending on experience
